The Blood of Lathander is a legendary +3 mace hidden deep beneath Rosymorn Monastery, locked inside a trapped Secret Chamber within Crèche Y'llek. Here's how to get it from start to finish:

Getting into Rosymorn Monastery

  1. Travel to the Rosymorn Monastery Trail and find the Cable Car Wheel at X: -47, Y: -74. Pass a DC 15 Strength Check to summon the car and ride it to the monastery.
  2. The main doors are magically sealed — climb through the broken windows at X: 64, Y: 31 instead.
  3. Deal with the Kobolds inside. One of them carries the Ceremonial Mace, which starts the quest.

Collecting the Three Ceremonial Weapons

You'll need a mace, warhammer, and battleaxe to solve the Dawnmasters' puzzle and earn the Dawnmaster's Crest (which lets you safely claim the relic).

  • Ceremonial Mace — Looted from the Kobold Looter on the ground floor (X: 40, Y: 28).
  • Ceremonial Battleaxe — Head north to the crack in the wall, jump up to the roof, and find the enchanted door at X: 95, Y: 46. Lockpick it (DC 15) or smash the wall at X: 106, Y: 38. Inside is a Guardian of Faith — kill it and grab the axe from the floor.
  • Ceremonial Warhammer — Climb the Knotted Roots to the rooftop and find it in the Giant Eagle's nest. Pass a DC 18 Animal Handling or Persuasion check (with Speak with Animals) to avoid a fight, or kill the eagles.

Solving the Dawnmasters' Puzzle

  1. Head to the Dawnmasters' Memorial room on the upper level. Four altars surround a stained glass floor — a Ceremonial Longsword is already placed.
  2. Place the mace, warhammer, and battleaxe on the correct altars matching each Dawnmaster's name. A hidden compartment opens, revealing the Dawnmaster's Crest and granting your party the Morninglord's Radiance buff.

Opening the Secret Chamber

  1. Head into Crèche Y'llek and make your way to the Inquisitor's Chamber. In the western alcove at X: 1330, Y: -660, rotate the two Lathander statues — one facing east, one west. Use Grease on the stuck statue or pass a DC 25 Athletics Check to move it. This opens a hidden passage.

Navigating the Traps

  1. Proceed through the trapped corridor, destroying the Energy Source crystals blocking your path. Use ranged attacks or spells like Magic Missile to hit hard-to-reach sources.
  2. A Dawnbreaker device will try to knock you back — switch to turn-based mode and disarm it with a DC 14 Sleight of Hand Check.

Claiming the Blood of Lathander

  1. Once you reach the altar at X: 1068, Y: -779, place the Dawnmaster's Crest in the altar's item slot before taking the mace. This safely retrieves the Blood of Lathander and awards 145 XP.
  2. If you take the mace without the crest, a deadly trap activates — you'll have four turns to destroy four Solar Machines or escape the monastery before it's obliterated.

Using the Dawnmaster's Crest is by far the cleanest method, so don't skip the weapon puzzle upstairs.
