Where to find treasure in Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is packed with hidden treasure hunts, each requiring you to follow a chain of maps to reach a final gold bar reward. Here's a breakdown of every major treasure hunt and where to find them:

Jack Hall Gang Treasure (All That Glitters)

  1. Find Máximo Cristóbal Valdespino southwest of Horseshoe Overlook during Chapter 2. Decline his first offer of $10 so he drops the price to $5.
  2. Treasure 1: Head to Caliban's Seat north of where you met Máximo. Approach from north to south, climb the path to the top, then work your way down the cliff to find a crack in the rock face.
  3. Treasure 2: Travel to Cotorra Springs in Ambarino and search the largest rock at the top of the area.
  4. Treasure 3: Head east to O'Creagh's Run in Grizzlies East. Swim to the small island's south side and search for a loose rock on the flat rock face — your reward is 2 Gold Bars worth $500 each.

Poisonous Trail Treasure

  1. Map 1: Found in a lockbox under a bed inside Cairn Lodge at Cairn Lake, northwest Ambarino.
  2. Map 2: Hidden in a hollow tree trunk west of Ringneck Creek in Scarlett Meadows, Lemoyne.
  3. Map 3: Located at Serpent Mound in Roanoke Ridge, hidden in the center rock formation.
  4. Treasure: Follow the maps to a hidden cave at Elysian Pool. Navigate through the cave, hugging the right wall through the campsite room, then jump across a chasm to reach a pile of rocks hiding 4 Gold Bars.

High Stakes Treasure

  1. Map 1: After triggering "All That Glitters," encounter a treasure hunter between Diablo Ridge and Riggs Station. Hogtie or kill him to loot the map, then head behind Cumberland Falls for Map 2.
  2. Map 2: Points you to Barrow Lagoon in the West Grizzlies — find Map 3 inside a log bridge on the frozen lake.
  3. Map 3: Takes you northeast of Fort Wallace. Navigate a tricky ridge saddle between Fort Wallace and Bacchus Station.
  4. Treasure: Three Gold Bars hidden between rocks at the end of the path, worth $500 each.

Landmarks of Riches Treasure

  1. Map 1: Found on an obelisk northwest of Owanjila in West Elizabeth — examine the plaque to reveal a hidden opening.
  2. Follow the chain through the Tiny Church in Lemoyne (roof), the Mysterious Hill Home (window), and finally Bolger Glade (hollow tree near a broken cannon).
  3. Treasure: Found on Mount Shann under a rock at the base of the sundial — six Gold Bars worth $3,000 total.

Elemental Trail Treasure (Epilogue only)

  1. Map 1: On the shores of the Sea of Coronado southwest of Tumbleweed — shoot a hanging corpse down from a cliff and loot it.
  2. Map 2: Looted from a chimney in Greenhollow.
  3. Map 3: Found along a gutter on stilts near Benedict Point.
  4. Treasure: At Coot's Chapel cemetery, under a loose rock on a grave beneath a tree — rewards include a Gold Bar and the Crow Beak Trinket (increases looted ammo by 10%).

Le Tresor des Morts (Pre-order exclusive)

  1. Map 1: Found in Limpany's unburnt jail cell in The Heartlands.
  2. Follow the clue to an underground passage accessed from the Saint Denis docks, then find a riddle note in the dirt wall.
  3. Treasure: A mausoleum in the Saint Denis graveyard holds 6 Gold Bars worth $3,000 total.

All gold bars can be sold to any Fence across the map, making these treasure hunts some of the best ways to earn big money in RDR2.
