Where to find the Legendary Bear in Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
The Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear is one of the most fearsome hunts in Red Dead Redemption 2, and knowing exactly where to look — and how to prepare — will save you a lot of trouble.
Here's everything you need to know to find and take down the Legendary Bear:
-
Location: The Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear is found at O'Creagh's Run, in the Grizzlies East region of Ambarino. This is its exclusive habitat, so you won't encounter it anywhere else on the map.
-
When it becomes available: The bear is first introduced during the story mission "Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego" in Chapter 2, where Arthur and Hosea track it but fail to kill it. After this mission, you can return to O'Creagh's Run at any time to hunt it independently.
-
How to identify it: This bear is noticeably larger than any other grizzly in the game. It also has distinctive scars across its face and body, making it easy to tell apart from regular bears in the area.
-
Recommended weapons: Long-range weapons work best — bring a sniper rifle or a Bow with Improved Arrows to deal damage from a safe distance. That said, since legendary animals always drop a perfect pelt regardless of the weapon used, you have some flexibility in your loadout.
-
What you get: Killing the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear yields a Legendary Bear Pelt, Big Game Meat, a Legendary Bear Claw, and Animal Fat. Take the pelt to the Trapper to craft pieces from The Bear Hunter Garment Set, and bring the claw to the Fence to craft the rare Bear Claw Talisman.
Head to O'Creagh's Run, follow the bear tracks and clues in the area to trigger the legendary animal investigation sequence, and be ready for a dangerous fight — this is rated as a very high danger encounter that can kill you quickly if you get caught off guard.
